HAZWOPER 40-hour

This training course is designed to meet the OSHA requirements for those individuals engaging in removal or other activities which may potentially expose a worker to hazardous substances, health hazards, or safety hazards and their supervisors or/and management responsible for the site. The course is delivered through a combination of lecture, group exercises and hands-on activities. Objectives include: – site characterization and analysis – work practices by which the employee risks can be minimized – medical surveillance requirements – personal and environmental monitoring methods – contents of an emergency response plan – decontamination procedures – personal protective equipment requirements Extensive hands-on activities are an integral part of the course and allow each student to wear level B PPE and perform various simulated spill cleanup and decontamination operations. An exam will be given at the conclusion of the course.

HAZWOPER 24-hour

This training course is designed to meet the OSHA requirements for those individuals who respond to hazardous material releases or potential releases for the purpose of stopping the release. The Hazardous Material Technician assumes an offensive role in order to plug, patch or otherwise stop the release of a hazardous substance. Objectives include: – Implementing an emergency response plan – Classification, identification, and verification of materials – Selection and use of personal protective equipment – Understanding of hazard and risk assessment techniques – Implementing of decontamination procedures – Understanding of termination procedures – Understanding of basic chemical and toxicological references Extensive hands-on activities are an integral part of the course and allow each student to wear level B PPE and perform various simulated spill cleanup and decontamination operations. An exam will be given at the conclusion of the course.

HAZWOPER 8-hour Refresher

This training course is designed to meet the annual refresher OSHA requirement for those individuals engaging in removal or other activities which may potentially expose a worker to hazardous substances, health hazards, or safety hazards and their supervisors or/and management responsible for the site. Objectives include: – site characterization and analysis – work practices by which the employee risks can be minimized – medical surveillance requirements – personal and environmental monitoring methods – contents of an emergency response plan – decontamination procedures – personal protective equipment requirements An exam will be given at the conclusion of the course.
